A fine all-round display from Jack Dent finally saw Rawdon kick-start their season and climb out of the bottom two in Division A.

But even an accurate, five-wicket spell of bowling from the Australian couldn't overcome the resistance of Burley's Nick Brook (67no) and the home side still had three wickets left at the close to claim two points that lifted them one place to 11th.

Earlier, in a game reduced to 35 overs per side, Rawdon reached 172 for six with skipper Craig Walsh and Jamie Davey each contributing 43 and Dent weighing in with a useful 36.

Tong Park slipped to the bottom after their match against North Leeds was halted by rain. Rajesh Gahlot (5-77) and Chris Shepherd (4-44) had dismissed the visitors for 183 but Park only faced ten overs before play stopped.

Stubborn batting from Sam Smith (46) and Matthew O'Grady (58no) helped Otley pick up two points against one of the title favourites Kirkstall, while Steeton struggled against Green Lane's Rohan Obst (6-48) and were bowled out for 107. Neil Spragg scored 52 of those, his third consecutive half-century. Rain ended the game with Green Lane on six for one.

In Division B, David Daggett produced a five-wicket spell to restrict Thackley to 118 for nine in a match reduced to 37 overs per side. Upper Wharfedale eased to their second win of the season with seven overs and seven wickets to spare, Chris Butt (44) and James Freebury (38no) leading the way.

Silsden did well to hang on for a point against fancied Collingham, while Andrew Burke's four-wicket haul helped dismiss Beckwithshaw for 166 but rain prevented Guiseley's reply.

Another match cut short was at Horsforth but not before Olicanian had raced to 151 for six at almost seven an over, with Dave Corcoran (51) and David Brook (44) heading the charge.

Ilkley's early domination of Division C came unstuck after a five-wicket defeat in the penultimate over against Illingworth, who take over top spot.

With a fine knock of 66 from Paul Dover, Ilkley set a testing target of 205 but the visitors won thanks mainly to Alex Ledger (82) and Mark Fellows (50).

Harden also suffered a setback, managing only two points against Alwoodley despite a knock of 71 from former East Bierley batsman David Dawson and an unbeaten 62 by Gary Topp.

Neil McClelland (6-54) helped Bolton Villas pick up four points in a tight finish against New Rover.

Rain restricted Skipton's match at Colton to just 14 overs, giving the visitors their first point of the season but that was improved the next day when the fixture was reversed for the Waddilove Cup and Skipton emerged as winners by one wicket after dismissing Colton for 153.

Pride of place goes to Harden from Division C, who knocked out Division A opponents Rawdon in a high-scoring match reduced to 33 overs.

Stuart Smith (69) helped Rawdon to 224 for eight but a fourth-wicket stand of 115 between Anthony Bairstow (84) and David Dawson (66no) helped Harden pull off a famous win.

Division B side Upper Wharfedale also went through at the expense of Woodhouse, Chris Butt top-scoring with 75 not out, and Green Lane progressed on the faster run rate against Menston, largely thanks to Jamie Pickering's 75 not out.

Less successful were Olicanian, Ilkley, Ben Rhydding and Burley, who all went out, while Jake Brown (77) top-scored for Calverley as they knocked out Thackley.
