New leaders Farsley have put a small shaft of daylight between themselves and second-placed Idle in Division Two of the JCT600 Bradford League.
The top two met at Cavendish Road on Sunday and Farsley triumphed by 48 runs to overtake their rivals.
Wicketkeeper David Syers continued his improvement with 75 not out in Farsley’s 167 for six, Ashley Metcalfe making 51.
Tahir Mahmood’s nagging accuracy brought him three for 21 but that was nothing compared to Farsley’s spin duo of Lorenzo Inghram (4-27) and Metcalfe (5-16), who helped send Idle back for only 119.
Keighley are now only a point behind Idle in third place after a gripping one-wicket victory at Hartshead Moor with a ball to spare.
Simon North hit 102 in Moor’s 203 for eight but Keighley replied with 207 for nine, Steve Reape top-scoring with 48.
Undercliffe are back up to fourth after Nawaz Sardar (82 not out and four for 44) inspired them to a 35-run win over Windhill, Andrew Duckworth also shining with 87.
Bankfoot lost a key encounter at Gomersal, however, after the hosts made 213 for seven. The reply ended at 162, chief batsman Gareth Von Hoesslin falling for 36.
North was not the only centurion as Nissar Chaudhry made an unbeaten 113 for Great Horton in their 256 for four, Talish Butt hitting 83.
Mohammed Sharafat then took four for 18 as Great Horton made themselves the best of the rest.
Naemuddin Qazi is one of the most consistent batsmen in the section and scored 50 for Spen Victoria in their 46-run success at home to Lightcliffe.
