A frustrating day in Dales Council League Division A saw one fixture abandoned without play and the other four fixtures started but were not completed due to rain.

Leaders Woodhouse were put in to bat at the Scott Hall Oval by Leeds Caribbean and had reached 219-8 (Zia Butt 91no, Amjad Hussain 5-47) when the rain arrived.

Second-placed Halifax Direct were due to travel to Mayfield Terrace but the fixture was abandoned with no play due to a waterlogged ground.

Third and fourth met at Station Road where Sikh won the toss against Drighlington and reached 154-8 before the bad weather came.

At Daleside Road bottom-placed Savile Stars were bowled out for 109 by Thornbury who did not get chance to bat. Highest score in the division came at Meanwood Road where Cookridge were put in to bat and had reached 248-5 (Ahtsham Ellahi 65, Tim Short 53) after 41.2 overs before rain caused abandonment against Bradford Moor.

In Division B at Low Springs, Baildon put leaders One Stop in to bat and had them at 9-2 before Umar Malik (53no) joined Natesh Prabhu Murugesan (63no) in an unbeaten third wicket partnership of 125 before rain stopped play after 25 overs.

Thornbury B travelled to Gledhow and suffered the same fate when, with Leeds Sikh B on 179-5 after 42.4 overs, the game was abandoned.

At Karmand, Halifax Direct B were bowled out for 103 (Islam Khokar 8-32) by Muff Field, who didn't have chance to reply.

At Smithy Tong Park Esholt were bowled out for 122 (Andrew Barker 39, Mahsood Akhtar 3-17, Rob Foggitt 3-25) in 44.1 overs by Cookridge B.

Bottom side Adel were bowled out for only 41 (Keith Marsden 5-1, Ricky Priestley 4-5) at Church Lane by Pudsey St Lawrence, who suffered heartbreak when at 36-4 the rain returned and caused the game to be abandoned.

With Division C leaders Shipley Providence having a bye week, Interlink’s opportunity to move to the top was spoilt by the rain at Park Avenue. After bowling out Mayfield B for 63 (Mohammed Pandor 4-28) they had scored 27-0 when the game was abandoned.

At Sunnybank Muff Field B decided to bat but were bowled out for 69 (Ross McHale 3-11, Allan Mitchell 3-11, Martin Douglass 3-25) by Drighlington B, who knocked off the runs in just seven overs thanks to 52 in just 27 balls from Bhaven Mistry.

Cookridge C v St Chads Broomfield was abandoned with no play and Morley conceded to Baildon B due to player shortage.
