ALL-ROUNDER Cricket Bradford Premier League Conference leaders Sandal judged their run chase well as they defeated Brighouse by three wickets to retain their grip on top spot.

Skipper Kristian Shuttleworth (67) and Ian Suttleworth (40 not out) led the way as their side replied to a Brighouse score of 243-9.

Quadratullah Azizi (3-65) and Parvas Khan (3-60) were the best of the bowlers for Brighouse who were unable to defend a total which had been built around the efforts of Saqab Muhammed (57) and Khan 38. Sam Noden took 4-50 for Sandal.

Great Preston are nine points behind Sandal following their six-wicket win over Crossbank Methodists.

Callum Jordan’s haul of 5-37 helped them bowl out Crossbank Methodists for 152, a score which owed much to Simon Denton’s 50.

Opener Kieren Thurston (56) ensured that Great Preston reached their target with the minimum of fuss.

Ryan Callis returned his season’s best figures of 7-16 as Rodley bowled out Windhill & Daisy Hill for 119 on their way to a seven-wicket win.

Zahid Tarvas made 62 in an East Leeds total of 256-9 before rain brought an early end to their match with Gildersome & Farnley Hill.
