BAILDON are the new All-Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship One leaders.

A six-wicket victory over Wakefield St Michael’s allowed them to take full advantage of Keighley’s first defeat of the season, going down at the hands of Ossett.

Wily left-arm spinner Mushtaq Ahmed produced another impressive display to take 6-30 as Wakefield St Michael’s, despite 57 from Mitchell Forsyth, were bowled out for 143.

Baildon eased to their target for the loss of four wickets with Australian Blair Oakley continuing his rich vein of form with an unbeaten 60. He shared an undefeated fifth-wicket stand of 80 with Simon Bailey (32no).

The Jenny Laners are five points ahead of Keighley, who had no answer to an Ossett side getting into its stride after a slow start to the campaign.

Former Woodlands batsman Jack McGahan (67), Oliver Newton (45no) and Matthew Varley (37) helped Ossett to a total of 218-8.

Keighley’s batsmen struggled against the seam bowling of Dan Busfield (4-29) and Max Chappell (3-25) as they were bowled out for 127 to lose by 91 runs.

Former Keighley player Richard Wear produced a match-winning performance for Gomersal as they defeated Morley by eight wickets.

Wear took 5-20 as Morley were bowled out for 245, a total which owed much to the efforts of opener James McNichol (77), former Gomersal wicketkeeper Harvey Lockwood (46) and Akash Senerathna (37).

When Gomersal batted, it was skipper Wear who led from the front. He made an unbeaten 98 and shared in partnerships of 95 with Liam Fletcher (50) and 107 with Callum Flynn (61).

Pudsey Congs closed to within three runs of third-placed Batley after defeating them by 124 runs. Yasir Ali showed again what a valuable addition he is proving to be with a super knock of 107. He struck two sixes and 11 fours. Jacques Allen (44) joined him in a fifth-wicket alliance of 130 which helped their side to make 238-7.

Batley’s most successful bowler was Roheil Hussain (3-78) while Owais Hussain (40) was their only batsman to resist for long as they were bowled out for 114. Young left-arm spinner Sam Wisniewski (4-12) and Chris Doey (3-10) did much of the damage.

East Bierley have moved up to fifth after defeating struggling Scholes by seven wickets. They overhauled the Scholes total of 158 thanks to an unbeaten 58 from the experienced Gulsheraz Ahmed and 41 by Ibrahim Jiva.

Scholes had been restricted in their innings by the good work of spinner Daanyaal Ahmed (4-33) and Ompal Boken (3-26).

Skipper James Lee hit an unbeaten 87 as Bankfoot defeated Hartshead Moor by seven wickets to leave the Highmoor Lane side hovering just above the relegation positions. Hamzah Iqbal (44) gave good support as Bankfoot eased past their opponents’ score of 158.

Only captain Adam Greenwood (36) looked like settling in as Lee (3-62) and spinner Andrew Stothart (4-38) got to work.
