AFTER the glorious weather of week one, came the rain of week two which allowed only two games to start, both were in A Division.

At Station Road, Drighlington won the toss and put Halifax direct into bat in a 37 over-a-side game.

Halifax started well and passed the hundred mark for the loss of only one wicket.

But 112-1 soon became 116-3 and then 130-4 before Farhan Ali (55) joined opener Asad Rashid (97) and put together an 89-run partnership to take the score to 219. This was before Asad Rashid was bowled by Matty Waller (3-29) and the innings then subsided to 227-9 after 37 overs.

Drighlington started poorly, slipping to 37-4 before Matty Waller (44no) was joined by Tom Gilpin. They took the score to 105-4 after 25 overs before the match was abandoned due to rain.

In another 37-over game at Meanwood Road, Mayfield were also asked to bat first and scored 159 in 36.2 overs with Paul Cuthbertson top scoring with 48 and Asif Mahmood taking 4-37.

In reply, Bradford Moor were 53-7 (Mohammed Faisal 4-20) when bad light and rain caused the game to be abandoned. All other games were abandoned with no play.
