AFTER the double washout for Keighley's sides the previous day, it was mixed results for the club when they finally got their seasons under way on Sunday.

Keighley's first-team grabbed an eight-wicket victory over Hartshead Moor in the Bradford Premier League Championship One.

Paul Quinlan was Keighley's star, restricting Hartshead to 109 all out in 39.2 overs.

Quinlan, one of Keighley's stars last season, started off their campaign in a similar vain, claiming 4-34 from his 13-over spell.

Adam Greenwood was top scorer for Moor with only 18, in an innings which included two ducks and seven batsmen not reaching double figures. Extras was joint second top scorer with 17. Four of their wickets fell within eight runs. J Wilmshurst ably assisted Quinlan with 3-21 from his eight overs. D Birkett took the other Hartshead wicket to fall, claiming 1-14 from his six overs.

In reply, Louis Horsfield was the batting star for Keighley, firing an unbeaten 43 in his side's 112-2 from 28.1 overs.

Horsfield's 69-ball innings included six fours. He was assisted by A Antoine, who reached 31 not out. Openers L Chapman (24) and T Mawer (0) were the two Keighley wickets to fall.

Meanwhile, there wasn't as much luck for Keighley II, who crashed to a seven-wicket defeat against East Ardsley.

Batting first, Keighley were restricted to 110-9 in their allotted 45 overs.

O Narey was the standout batsman, finishing on an unbeaten 49. He was not helped by his team-mates as eight of them failed to reach double figures.

It took just 28-3 overs for East Ardsley to reach their target, as they finished on 111-3.

A Towler claimed 2-21 from six overs, with R Hussain taking 1-27 from his six overs.
