BRADFORD Mutual Sunday School League club Interlink have been given permission to play in the Dales Council League in the forthcoming season.

The Mutual Sunday School League originally wanted the Bradford Park Avenue-based club to delay their switch until 2020.

However, Dales Council League secretary Ron Mackenzie has revealed that both leagues and the Yorkshire Cricket Board are now happy for the move to go ahead in time for the 2019 campaign.

Mackenzie said: “I spoke to Andrew Watson, of the Yorkshire Cricket Board, and he said that normally they should stick to the rules of 2020 (as the application was only made a matter of months ago), but if both leagues agree then clubs can transfer early.

“Sara (Louise Butterfield, secretary of Interlink but also formerly Mutual Sunday School League secretary) must have had a telephone poll with the rest of the Mutual Sunday School League committee and they agreed that if the club were desperate to transfer early then they would not stand in their way.

“The transfer has gone through and Interlink will be playing in the Dales Council League in 2019.”

Both Interlink and fellow newcomers Rodley C will start in the lowest section, Division C.
