KEIGHLEY have made their second notable signing of the winter.
Following on from their capture of all-rounder Paul Quinlan from Harden, the Lawkholme Laners have signed All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League legend Richard Gould.
The former Gomersal batsman is fourth in the league's all-time run-scorers' list with 15,345.
Gould, who is 41, not only brings vast experience, but will also help to guide what is essentially a young first team.
Opening batsman Gould, who has been at Gomersal for ten years, has also played for Salts, Farsley and East Bierley, with his consistent displays earning him a top-division average of 38.56.
Now the veteran is looking forward to a new chapter in his cricketing life by guiding such players as Louis Horsfield, Nathan Storton and James Rogers.
Gould cites promotion from Championship Division Two as a major target – they were ninth last season – as well as improving his own position on the run-scorers' table.
He still requires in excess of 2,000 runs to catch the current No 1 Richard Robinson, also from Keighley.
Keighley are hopeful of announcing more signings within the next month.
