FAVOURITES Illingworth St Mary's were beaten in the Spenser Wilson Halifax League's Rod Warhurst Cup final at Queensbury – despite having Bridgeholme at 22-3.
Tuffique Butt (102 retired) and Sajjad Mahmood (82) hit 18 fours and 11 sixes between them to help propel the Division Two team's score to 263-9 in their 40 overs.
Man-of-the-match Butt smacked nine sixes and Mahmood two and the partnership was only ended when Butt was forced to retire having reached his ton, a rule that he was not aware of as he threw his bat to the ground in frustration.
Aaran Terry-Dias aided the cause with 21 not out and only Ben Fearnley returned decent bowling figures with 3-49.
Division One outfit Bridgeholme had their own retiree with Hamza Mehmood (101no, including eight fours and eight sixes), while Sajad Ghazan made 47.
But the rest of the innings folded and ended on 199 as Bilal Mahmood took 5-35.
