Richard Craddock bowled DIVISION ONE leaders Thornton to victory over Bingley Congs as they took advantage of beating the weather in the Craven League.

An amazing number of games were completed, considering almost three inches of rain had fallen in the area during the previous few days.

Thornton were among the clubs able to stage a match and initially they looked in trouble against Congs, slipping to 43 for six.

But veteran opener Kevin Pollard dug in to make 47 and, with support from Mark Paxton (30) and Johnny Cowgill (29), lifted the total to 146.

Aidy Dibb finished with six for 50 but his team-mates could not take advantage with the bat as Congs were all out for just 109, with only Andy Jennings (29) and Chris Dibb (21) lasting long against Craddock (4-40) and Ajmal Choudrhy (3-10).

Second-placed Crossflatts won a thrilling game at Sandy Lane by two wickets with eight balls to spare.

The home side batted first and made 144, skipper Mark Oldfield topscoring with 36 as Mick Bailey claimed five for 34.

Crossflatts openers John Gath (50) and Ryan Brooksbank (36) then laid a solid foundation to the reply but, with wickets then falling, it needed some steady nerves later on.

Cullingworth moved up to third after seeing off Haworth by eight wickets in a 25-overs-per-side game.

Haworth were indebted to Jamie Rowell (47) for their 104 for eight, Dave Robinson finishing with six for 32, but Aussie Dave Cavanagh hit 64 in a decisive reply.

DIVISION TWO leaders Barrowford lost their 100 per cent record when their game at Long Lee was called off, while second-placed Airedale suffered at similar fate at Glusburn II.

Haworth Road made their longest journey of the season, to Chatburn, and crashed by six wickets.

The Baildon Bottom side scrambled to 137 (Charlie Hainsworth 47) as Richard Shovelton took five for 30 and Andy Booth four for 29.

The Ribble Valley outfit then stumbled to 43 for four, at which point Shovelton (48no) and Neil Cartledge (49no) produced an unbroken match-winning partnership.

Cononley moved third after a big victory over lowly Embsay II, for whom Zufar Iqbal claimed seven for 52 in a losing cause.

Michael Beer (50) helped the South Craveners make 143 for nine but Embsay collapsed to 49 all out, with Matthew Town (6-19) and veteran Colin Stead (4-25) doing the damage Pendle Forest, top of DIVISION THREE, were another side to lose their unbeaten record as they went down by 27 runs at home to Skipton CI.

The visitors were restricted to 112 for nine but Forest were then hustled out for 85 as John Stuttard took five for 45 and evergreen John Drake four for 36.

The win lifted Skipton up to second spot ahead of Oakworth II and Wilsden, who were both inactive.

Mid-table Carleton travelled over the border to Barrowford II and won a close contest by just four runs.

Thomas Mitcham (61) and Simon Cox (48) helped Carleton to 181 for six, before C Boyes (59) and J Ormerod (51) were just unable to get Barrowford home on 177 for seven.

Cowling II's efforts to get their game with Gargrave on came unstuck as they crashed by 50 runs.

M Zulfiqar (5-50) restricted Gargrave to 146 for nine but D Greenwood (4-43) skittled Cowling for 96.
