Dave Eggleton produced a fine all-round display to guide Upper Wharfedale to their second Aire-Wharfe League win of the season and lift them out of the bottom two to eighth in DIVISION TWO.

Eggleton took three cheap wickets and provided the ideal foil for Paddy McKenna, whose second four-wicket haul in a row helped dismiss Hall Park for 181. Park's main contributors were Ian Beesting (44no) and Simon Wiese (41).

Wharfedale did not have things all their own way in reply, with the ever-dangerous Tony Gilks (5-57) and Naz Khaliq (3-52) causing problems, but Eggleton came up with a half-century and Chris Butt (58no) saw the hosts to victory with two wickets and three overs to spare.

At the other end of the table, leaders Guiseley picked up a seven-wicket win over Bardsey in a low-scoring match reduced to 28 overs each.

Dave Pennett (4-19) and Marcus Brown (4-26) confined the visitors to 66 for nine but Guiseley also found batting difficult and only had 11 balls in hand when they secured the points.

Matthew King's fourth successive half-century and an unbeaten 51 from Robert Verity were the highlights of second-placed Harden's 184 for five against Knaresborough but Harden then only managed to take six wickets and had to be content with four points.

With the third against fourth match between Silsden and Tong Park failing to beat the weather, Guiseley have now increased their lead to three points.

Rawdon made up some lost ground with a nine-wicket thrashing of bottom club Calverley, with Mark McEneaney producing a stunning spell of four for two.

He was well supported by Nick Williams (3-20) as the home side were all out for just 70, with Jamie Pickering (35no) leading the comfortable Rawdon response.

Horsforth also had a blank afternoon, with their home match against New Rover unable to beat the weather.

The tensest finish of the day was in DIVISION ONE at North Leeds, where the home side just failed to catch Burley's 139 for six in a match reduced to 32 overs apiece.

Nick Brook followed up his top score of 39 not out with a three-wicket haul as Burley battled to contain North Leeds' batting, which included a half-century from Nigel Baker and unbeaten 38 from Tom Hudson.

The home side needed nine off the final over and then three from the last ball but were restricted to a single, giving Burley a valuable four points.

Otley became the latest victims of in-form joint-leaders Collingham, despite a superb 14.1-over spell of eight for 48 from James Davies. That restricted the home side to 174, their lowest score of the season, but Otley's batting collapsed and, for the second week in a row, they were bowled out for 88.

Steeton boosted their chances of escaping the bottom two with a four-point draw against Green Lane. Hagan Shakespeare (43) top-scored in Steeton's 174 for eight and, despite 83 not out from Michael Abbott and Robert Britton's unbeaten 35, Lane were still 14 runs short of victory at the close.

The DIVISION THREE title race is closer than ever after Olicanian and Addingham made the most of top two Menston and Colton managing only a point each from abandoned matches.

Matthew House (5-22) was the chief destroyer as Ben Rhydding (Nick Leyden 76) were restricted to 158 for nine. Dave Corcoran (78) then led Olicanian home with four wickets and an over to spare.

And Darrell Robinson (75no) guided Addingham past Ilkley's 166 for nine, which featured 70 from Alex Bailey.
