WARLEY lost opener Jimmy Sarwar for a duck but recovered to make it a hat-trick of victories in the Crossley Shield.

The Spenser Wilson Halifax League knockout competition saw Warley overcome SBCI by 89 runs in the final at Mytholmroyd.

Warley added 126 runs in the final 15 overs via man of the match James Whitworth (61) and Harun Razzak (45) to finish on 256-6.

There was no way back for SBCI from 11-3, despite the efforts of Charlie Holt-Conway (56) and Simon Hampshire (42no), and they finished on 167, with Sarwar taking 3-24.

The man of the match award could easily have gone to Mytholmroyd's groundstaff, however, for turning a lake into a ground fit for play by the scheduled start time.
