BRADFORD Gymkhana suffered the double disappointment of seeing both their teams go down on the result of one game in the Mutual Sunday School League on Saturday.
Their A team suffered a two-wicket defeat at the hands of champions Girlington to seal their relegation to Group B and that also confined their B team to a place in Group C next season as the two teams cannot play in the same section.
Farhad Raja scored 70 as Girlington overhauled the Gymkhana A total of 176-8.
The victory for Girlington meant Apperley Bridge had survived the drop with an 89-run victory over Great Horton Church. They bowled out Church for 78 with Zaka Ullah taking 6-14.
Relegation is tough on the Gymkhana B. Nazam Hussain took 7-26 for they won their final game in Group B against VVS Laxman by five wickets.
Bowling Baptists finished in the bottom two after a 41-run defeat by Hallifield but survived the drop thanks to Gymkhana B’s misfortune.
Mandhata became champions of Group C despite a losing draw against Parkside, who made 188-6 with skipper . Parkside batted first and Adeil Mir scoring 81. In reply Mandhata held on by scoring 104-7 in their 40 overs.
Muff Field won the relegation battle and avoided the drop after beating Great Horton Meths by seven wickets.
Cambing B secured promotion from Group D with a 57 run win over Bradford Indians. They bowled out Indians for 68.
