Adam Lyth has reached the second double century of his career as Yorkshire continue to dominate Lancashire on day three at Emirates Old Trafford.
He and Adil Rashid, who has posted his second ton of the season, have advanced the White Rose reply to 278 from 396-5 to 526-5 from 147 overs at lunch, sharing an unbroken 245 for the sixth wicket inside 61 overs.
Lyth and Rashid resumed this afternoon on 235 not out and 116 not out respectively as they looked to advance a lead of 248.
Lyth is now within 17 of Darren Lehmann’s 252 at Headingley in 2001, the highest ever score in a Roses match.
