JER Lane's opening bowler Nasir Chowdrey was one wicket from an all-ten feat in the Foster's Halifax League Premier Division.

He took 9-34 as the leaders showed little compassion for basement boys Sowerby St Peters as they stormed to a 168-run success.

Andrew Pinfield had earlier led from the front for Lane, but perished just one short of his century.

Lane continued to score steadily, with Johnny Lister contributing 45 in a daunting 249-8, Joshua Graham picking up 3-39. St Peters were then rolled over for 81.

Booth remain third following a 77-run success against a Thornton side who had started the day one place behind them.

That defeat saw Thornton slip two places, with Warley taking over their previous slot courtesy of a seven-wicket success over Blackley.

Oxenhope squeezed to a much-needed victory at Clayton in Division One – but only by one wicket.

All looked to be going to plan as Clayton were reduced to 64-5 by the opening pair of Liam Dyson and Ben Addison.

Joe Clough, Andrew Windle and Damian Selby all scored 22 to stabilise the Clayton innings but Adam Bailey continued to take wickets on his way to 3-51.

At 135-9, the innings looked over but last man Danny Roddis struck 31 not out to move the total up to a respectable 175.

A disastrous start saw both openers back in the hutch with just six runs on the board. As in the Clayton innings, batsmen got a start and then failed to consolidate.

Liam Dyson (38) and Grahame Ellis (30) looked to be moving the visitors to victory before succumbing. However, the score edged up and skipper Duncan Tetley looked to be man for the occasion before being bowled by Clough (3-49) with ten still needed and eight wickets down.

Enter young bowler Addison, who calmly knocked off the required runs to save the day.

SBCI are still top following a 41-run success over Low Moor.

George Hampshire set the standard with 57 at the top of the SBCI card as they rattled up 205-8.

Robin Hanson (4-40) and Jamie Sykes (4-10) made sure Moor were unable to get away, opener Andrew Croadsell top-scoring with 50 out of 164.

Cullingworth are back on top of Division Two following their 120-run crushing of struggling Shelf.

George Heartfield made his intentions clear with a superb attacking 104, with Anthony Partington proving no slouch with a 69 in a total of 279-9.

Shelf made little impact as they fell away to 159, Stuart Boardall making 35 while Dave Robinson claimed 5-34.

Denholme Clough moved into third place following their 211-run demolition of Old Town.

Imran Aslam (70) and Mohammed Yousaf (51) were the main run-makers in Clough’s imposing 322-8. Old Town could only make 111-9 in reply.
