Cowling, Riddlesden and Wilsden are the undefeated sides in Division Two of the Craven League.

Cowling entertained Denholme and posted a modest 139, with Mike Dudley (36) and Matt Wiggan (34) being the best batsmen as Luke Pickles took 4-22.

The visitors were cantering to victory at 117-7 but faltered and were all out for 126. Joe Greenwood made 55 as S Hassan took 3-17 and Martyn Dalby 3-43.

Riddlesden were in the runs again at Glusburn. A Raza (78) and Adam Khan (74) helped them to an impressive 237-7 as Nick Williamson toiled through 19 overs to finish with 6-105. The Park Field side made a creditable 189-7 in reply, led by J Baker (44) and N Freeman (34).

Wilsden hustled Sutton out for 76 at Windy Grove, with Dave Hahn (3-15) and Ben Peirson (3-29) doing most damage. Skipper Steve Wright (39no) then led his side to a stunning nine-wicket victory.

The battle of the two second teams in the division was a run feast at Wide Lane.

Oakworth Seconds’ Brannan Lawn made a superb 106 not out to go with good knocks from Drew Duffy (56), Robert Hollingsworth (53) and Nivard Trowers (45) as the total reached an impressive 291-5.

Barrowford Seconds produced a good effort in reply, making 227 as Ollie Stell finished with 4-36 off 11 overs.

Ingrow restricted hosts Airedale to 104-6, with Trevor Cox making 37 not out and Ian Roberts taking 3-30. The Hainworth side took 40 overs to reach their target for the loss of six wickets.

Long Lee decided to bat first at home to Pendle Forest as John Green (38) helped the Golden View side to 142.

The Fence outfit then galloped home by six wickets in the 42nd over, despite being 44-4, as Mark Holdsworth (51no) and Harris (46no) took them to the winning post.

Embsay Seconds share the lead at the top of Division Three with Sandy Lane after they beat Ingrow St John’s Seconds by eight wickets.

Saints made 131, with A Hussain scoring 38 as John Metcalfe took 6-59. Metcalfe then smashed four sixes and seven fours in his 68 as the hosts cruised to victory in the 16th over.

Sandy Lane went on the rampage at home to eight-man Crossflatts Seconds. They smashed 293-3, with A Blackburn (149no) and Mark Oldfield (89) putting on 237 for the second wicket.

The visitors slumped to 81 all out, with Steve Carass (4-49) in the wickets again.

Wilsden Seconds made 156-7 at Chatburn – Dave Kirby making 50 – but the Ribble Valley side got home by three wickets.

Haworth West End were 80 runs too strong for Eldwick & Gilstead at Penistone Park, while Charles Calvert top-scored with 36 as Cononley totalled 157 at home to Gargrave.

Ryan Taylor (5-27) and Willie Naylor (3-32) were to the fore when the Skipton Road side replied but the visitors reached their target off the penultimate ball for the loss of eight wickets.

Skipton CI have quickly found their feet in Division Four and recorded their second win, by ten wickets at Haworth.

Richard Gaunt made 49 as the Bronte side totalled 118, with the experienced Sean Williamson (6-37) and John Stuttard (3-50) doing the damage. Ian Henderson (69no) and Jon Sharpe (35no) took CI to the points in the 25th over.

Cullingworth Seconds were 35 runs too good for visitors Thornton Seconds.

Pendle Forest Seconds were hustled out for 75 by visitors Long Lee Seconds. Anjum Ahmed scored 26 as Mick Hawkes claimed 3-30. The Golden View side then collapsed to 45 all out, with Tahir Zaman taking 7-21 and Afraz Ahmed 3-15.

Paul Schofield made 42 of Glusburn Seconds’ modest 67 all out at Riddlesden Seconds. Imran Mehban took 5-29 and John Duffy 5-38. The Grange Road side stormed home by eight wickets in the 12th over.

There was a tight, low-scoring game at Beckfoot, where visitors Bradley made 104 with veteran Tim Rudden scoring 25 as Michael Baines claimed 5-27. Bingley Congs Seconds were then restricted to 95, with Rudden taking 4-18 and J Andrews 3-9.

Ingrow Seconds came off second best as they lost by 45 runs at home to Airedale Seconds. Paul Feather top-scored with 44 as the visitors made 163. Then Giles Wilmore (6-66) and Alan Hayes (3-19) kept the Hainworth side in check and they were all out for 118, despite the best efforts of M Courtman (41) and D Scott (40).

Sutton Seconds are the only side in Division Five to have played two and won two. They dismissed Sandy Lane Seconds for 145 at Royd Mill before galloping to a fine seven-wicket victory in the 30th over, with S Todd (44no) and Mark Allport (42) leading the way.

H Land (7-40) and D Gupta (69) were the stars of Chatburn Seconds’ six-wicket win over at Foulridge Seconds.

Zahid Shafait (7-48) and Ben Davey (32no) were the main players in Cowling Seconds’ four-wicket victory at Denholme Seconds.

Sam Smith (39) and Bruce Woodhouse (32) provided the backbone of Skipton CI Seconds’ 180-8 against Oakworth Thirds at Sandylands as Ollie Huck took 3-31.

The visitors got home by two wickets with just seven balls to spare. Sam Nettleton (56no) and Michael Lee (53) were the main scorers as Smith (4-51) and V Nawaz (4-67) tried valiantly to conjure a victory.

Just as there was in their first-team’s game, Gargrave Seconds and Cononley Seconds figured in a close and tense finish.

Wilf Nixon made 30 not out as the home side made 153, with J Crossley taking 5-65. In a pulsating finish, the visitors fell just one run short of their target, with Tom Stowell taking 4-33 and Chris Smith 3-48 as R Mansell made 36.
