Guiseley successfully defended their West Riding County Cup against Bradford Park Avenue at Valley Parade last April, and both of those clubs have received a bye into the second round of this season’s competition.
There is no seeding of clubs, so it purely by the luck of the draw that last season’s finalists have both missed out on first-round action this term.
Somewhat surprisingly, given that there are ten representatives from the area, only one derby tie was thrown up when the draw was made this week.
Evo-Stik Division One North outfit, and last season’s semi-finalists, Farsley will host Baris Northern Counties East League Division One side Albion Sports.
The other ties are widely spread, with Thackley hosting Tadcaster Albion and Silsden at home to Askern Villa.
Liversedge make the short trip to Garforth Town, while Brighouse Town travel to WRCC debutants Knaresborough Town.
Joining Avenue and holders Guiseley with a free ticket into the second round are FC Halifax Town and Eccleshill United.
