Eccleshill United’s season gets underway tomorrow night when they play their first pre-season friendly fixture against AFC Emley.

The match will take place on the neutral ground of Hall Green United in the Wakefield area because neither of the clubs involved can use their own home grounds.

Eagles’ football club chairman Adrian Benson said: "The reason is that our pitch has been levelled out and reseeded and so is not ready after all the extensive work.

"Emley have cricket matches at their ground so they can’t host us so we had to find a ground to play the game on.

"Emley is our manager Ian Banks’ old club so he will be renewing old acquaintances and we all hope it will be a good game for both squads of players."
