Farsley’s supporters could not separate their club’s two assistant player managers, so they shared the fans' player of the season award at the Throstle Nest presentation evening.

Manager Neil Parsley has been ably assisted by centre back Mark Jackson and forward or midfielder Simeon Bambrook but the experienced pair have shown no desire to hang up their boots and take up a full-time role in the dug-out.

Defender Ryan Serrant won the vote of his peers and picked up the players’ player of the season accolade, while former Bradford City youth Ben Jones walked away with the top goal-scorer’s gong.

Parsley said: “Ben was out in front when it came to goals scored but Gareth Grant and Sim Bambrook chipped in with good haul between them.

"It was a very good season for the club, and I wasn’t surprised that Jacko and Sim were joint winners on behalf of the supporters.

“It is all about the squad and not the individual in this game, and all of the players at this club know that - none more so than the people who won the awards on the night.

“I think congratulations are in order, though, for the players who were nominated and its nice for them to get the recognition.

"They have shown remarkable commitment to this club and their efforts are appreciated, but so are those of the rest of the players here.”
