Salts moved a step closer to securing the DIVISION ONE runners-up spot behind champions elect Lepton Highlanders as they beat closest West Riding County Amateur League rivals Overthorpe SC 3-1.
John Cullen set Salts on their way with a first-half strike before further goals by Wayne Walsh and Kyle Berry secured the points.
Scott Minto netted the consolation as Overthorpe slipped three points behind having also played a game more.
At the other end of the table, rock-bottom Halifax Irish needed a victory at home to Hunsworth to have a realistic chance of escaping relegation but had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Third-bottom Dudley Hill Rangers are still not safe after they threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Wakefield City.
Adam Sharkey and Joe Broadhead gave Rangers the initiative but Ryan Southward and a Sharkey own goal levelled matters.
That leaves Dudley Hill needing at least five points from their three remaining games to be sure of retaining a place in the division.
Storthes Hall Reserves also let slip a 2-0 advantage as they missed a chance to move out of the bottom two by losing 3-2 at home to Ventus-Yeadon Celtic.
Goals from Alistair Townsley and Jon Thompson saw their goals overturned in the second half by Terry Hargreaves, Jamie Scott and Matthew Hannah.
