It’s hard to take when you keep losing away from home, even though there is very little difference between the teams.

I was a bit disappointed at Shrewsbury on Monday not to get in the game at all. I did look a bit heavy-legged even though I felt fine in myself.

The first half was frustrating and I don’t think we got going all over the park. Shrewsbury are doing very well but we made them look neat and tidy.

We’ve just played two of the top teams and they weren’t anything special. Personally I think Swindon were the best team we’ve faced, even though we got a 0-0 draw there with ten men.

You could see in the way they tried to play why they are top of the league. Cheltenham, too, came to Valley Parade and did a very good job on us.

But we were the better team in both games with Southend and I don’t think you could split the sides at Shrewsbury.

We started slowly but still could have gone in 2-1 up at half-time. I thought we did enough to get a point in the end.

We need to take our chances and that’s not happening, especially away from home.

That’s even more the case when you are giving sloppy goals away. Do that and it puts more pressure on you to score.

We’re basically giving the opposition a head start with those sort of soft goals.

At least our performance against Southend was a good one and that result obviously lifted everybody.

The way this season has gone, the fans would probably rather we win at home because there are more in the ground to see it.

I don’t want to be looking at other teams down the bottom. We shouldn’t be where we are but that’s life and we’ve got to see the job out.

Then the manager and the two chairmen can start planning for what they want next season.
