Bradford Park Avenue 4, Loughborough Dynamo 0

Bradford Park Avenue had to be patient to break down their lower-ranking visitors tonight but once they had they marched to victory in this Doodson Sports Cup fourth-round tie.

The sponsors title is used for the Evo-Stik League Cup and this clash was a meeting of Premier Division Avenue and Division One South Loughborough Dynamo.

Despite having home advantage over a club from the lower tier, the Bradford side took time to settle but once they did they cruised.

The home side came closest to breaking the deadlock in the goalless first half but their visitors did have a couple of half-chances.

For Avenue, it was Aiden Savory and Curtis Bernard who were on the end of most of the attacks, and Jordan Deacey was delivering most of the telling balls into the box.

But it was Rob O’Brien who rattled the bar with a direct free-kick.

The breakthrough finally came just minutes after the interval when Michael Duckworth rifled a left-footed strike into the top corner from fully 30 yards.

Bradford skipper O’Brien doubled their lead with an equally stunning strike in the 56th minute, this time from 25 yards.

Another Deacey set-piece led to the third, and it was substitute and assistant manager Mark Hume who converted with a well-placed header.

The floodgates were well and truly open, which was harsh on Dynamos’ keeper Laurie Pearson, who turned in an excellent performance, and Duckworth wrapped up the scoring with a shot from outside the area six minutes from time to seal Avenue's place in the next round.
