There were Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division fixtures played yesterday, and Bolton Woods started off the new year with a 3-1 victory over Westwood Park, with strikes from Dave Wright, Andy Howland and Gary Birchall.

There were nine goals in the Baildon Trinity v Relay Recruitment Rovers match, with the hosts victorious, hitting the net six times.

The only Division One fixture was at Manningham, where visitors Cuedos Rangers' Chris Durn hit a brace in a 2-0 victory over the basement club.

Rangers dedicated their victory to six-year-old Bailey Halliday, who lost a brave battle against cancer just before Christmas and whose father, known as “Baggy”, plays for Cuedos.

In Division 1A, all three fixtures ended in honours even, and only four goals were scored throughout the division.

It was a different story in Division 1B, with three matches being played and 25 goals being scored, ten of them in the Stanningley v Oakworth top-of-the- table clash, with the hosts winning 7-3.

Lane Ends hit eight second-half strikes without reply against Saltaire Rangers, with Dale Howard and Danny Backhouse both having a brace and further strikes coming from Luke and Aaron Waterhouse and Tom and Liam Dolan.

In Division 2A, Bankfoot Lions held Queensbury, sharing two points and two goals, with Nicholas Brookesbank on the mark for the hosts.

Whitburn Athletic started off the second half of their Division 2B season with a 4-0 victory over Delius, with Reece Smith on the mark with a hat- trick.

In Division 3A, Elliott Holmes bagged a treble for Swaine Green at TCFC.

It was a great start to the new year for Cricketers Arms, who moved three points clear of the bottom with a impressive 4-0 victory at Jubo Dhol, goals coming from Andy Barlow, Richard Garth, Wayne Brotherton and Sam Greenwood, while Tom Shackleton was solid at the heart of the defence.

In Division 3B, Little Horton Athletic and Cycling fought out a seven-goal thriller, with the hosts taking a three goal lead early in the first half with a great strike by former Bradford City player Lewis Emmanuel being the pick of the goals.

The visitors struck back just before the interval with a goal from Andy McGrath, and then a superb second-half hat-trick from Jamie Sugden proved too much for the hosts.

Deroy Wright hit a hat-trick for Thornton United Reserves and Chris Brado a brace in an eight-goal victory over Eccleshill Punjab but the highlight was the hosts’ goalkeeper Ryan Blythe taking the ball up the wing, cutting inside and scoring in the second half.
