Mossley 1, Farsley AFC 2

Farsley reclaimed third place in Evo-Stik League Division One North as they came from behind to earn victory at Mossley.

The home side made the most of a good start when Tom Denton put them in front in the tenth minute with a header from distance. It was a nervy first half for both teams though, with little created.

There were signs that Farsley were gaining the upper hand as the interval approached but they could not find an equaliser.

Then soon after the restart they were on terms when Ben Jones did the hard graft and provided Dominic Krief with an opening that needed no second invitation and he slotted the ball home.

The evergreen Simeon Bambrook provided the winning goal with a superb free-kick from the left flank, curling the ball into the top corner.

The win saw Neil Parsley’s men leapfrog Skelmersdale United to go back into third place. But with the top two – leaders Curzon Ashton and second-placed Fylde – also both winning, it is very much status quo at the summit.

Farsley still trail Fylde by a point and Curzon by four, while it is Skelmersdale who have dropped out of the equation for the time being.

They also have just 15 games remaining, while Farsley have 16 and the leading duo both have 19 left to play.
