Ricky Ravenhill today stressed that City’s season is still very much alive despite their FA Cup exit.

Watford’s 4-2 win at Vicarage Road dashed hopes of a shock in the club’s first third-round appearance since 2004.

Ravenhill’s Valley Parade future has to be sorted before his loan expires after City face Morecambe on Saturday.

And while he hopes to stay involved, the midfield scrapper is adamant Phil Parkinson’s side have plenty to play for.

He said: “Losing won’t knock our confidence. We didn’t disgrace ourselves by any stretch of the imagination.

“We’ll go into next weekend on a high to carry on our good form in the league. We’re all confident we’re going in the right direction.

“Look at the squad here and we know we can climb that table and get as close to those play-offs as we possibly can.

“Teams are fearing playing us in the league. We’ve always had the players here and there’s no reason why we can’t be right up there even at this stage of the season.”

On his own position, Ravenhill added: “There’s some movement but nothing finalised as yet. We wanted to get this game out of the way and we’ll see what the week brings.”
