Bradford Park Avenue enjoyed a good win on the road at the weekend but need another one at North Ferriby United tomorrow night to put themselves in a position to climb the table again.

Victory at their lower mid-table hosts would put John Deacey’s men a point behind fourth-placed Chorley, who visit Horsfall Stadium this weekend.

Avenue have won only two of their last four Evo-Stik Premier Division fixtures but are still in the fifth-placed play-off spot.

And they have picked up some good results on their travels recently as chairman John Dean acknowledged.

He said: “We have been better away from home and last Saturday (which saw Avenue win 2-1 at Frickley Athletic) was the same. North Ferriby are normally very good at home but we also play well against teams that like to play football.

“With this game and the Chorley one coming so close afterwards, if we got some momentum going and picked six points up, we would finally move up the table a little.”

There were no new injury worries from the win at Frickley so it is still a question of selection for Deacey, who had Martin Drury and Richard Marshall on the bench on Saturday. Both will be looking to win back starting places.

Albion Sports have conceded home advantage as they attempt to play their West Riding County Cup second round tie with Ossett Albion at the third attempt tomorrow night.

The first meeting was off due to the council workers’ one-day strike and the second date was postponed because the pitch at Horsfall Stadium was waterlogged.

The frustrations led to the clubs agreeing to switch venues.

The winners are at home to Harrogate Town.
