Isaiah Osbourne returns to Hillsborough on Saturday looking to earn a contract with Leeds United.

Simon Grayson's Leeds have won all their three pre-season friendlies so far against Falkirk, Motherwell and Rochdale. Now they visit Sheffield Wednesday (1pm) where defensive midfielder Osbourne played ten games on loan from Aston Villa last season.

The 23-year-old was released by Villa when his contract came to an end this summer and made his Leeds debut on trial against Rochdale on Tuesday night, along with former Villa and Bolton left back JLloyd-Samuel who ended last season on loan to Cardiff, and a French winger. The Frenchman is believed to be Alexandre Mendy, who appeared as an unnamed trialist. All three are set to face Wednesday before Grayson makes a decision on their future.

Paris-born Mendy, 27, stands 6ft 3in tall and can play on the wing, in central midfield or up front. He started his career at FC Versailles and last season he helped FK Mlada Boleslav to win the Czech Republic Cup. His contract with Boleslav expired in the summer so he is a free agent.

Robert Snodgrass (ankle), Lloyd Sam (dead leg) and Patrick Kisnorbo (knee) are all hoping to return after injury, but side strain victim Andy O'Brien is not expected to be fit until next week and strikers Luciano Becchio and Davide Somma are long term casualties.

United should discover today (Fri) whether Fulham are prepared to loan out Leeds-born keeper David Stockdale for the season. United are among several clubs interested in Stockdale, 25, but Fulham's insistence on a 24-hour recall clause has so far proved a sticking point.
