Following last Saturday's FA Cup exit, Bradford Park Avenue will be looking to bounce back with three more league points and they have boosted their squad ahead of the visit of Wakefield.

Neil Grayston has returned for a third spell at Horsfall Stadium, David Cooke has also joined from Premier Division outfit Guiseley and forward Lee Morris makes it three new amigos.

Avenue have won three of their four UniBond Division One fixtures so far, meaning their league form is good.

But boss Phil Sharpe and his assistant Clive Freeman have been looking to add depth to their pool of players and they have made a start.

"We have had a strong 14 or 15 but no one pushing them. I think that has changed now," said Sharpe.

It is not all good news for the Avenue boss. He has allowed Paddy Mumbly to go on loan to Liversedge but is upset that Craig Smith decided to go with him.

His move was not sanctioned by the Avenue management team and as a result he will not be welcomed back.

"We wanted Paddy to go to get some games under his belt and gain experience.

"It is up to him if he wants to come back. Craig? That's a different matter - he has left the club."

Avenue have missed out on banking some much-needed cash by failing to clear the first hurdle in the FA Cup.

"They were also denied a swift opportunity to put last Saturday's defeat at Goole behind them when Monday's home fixture against Eastwood Town was shelved because of their replay against Bromsgrove.

"That was a blow but Clive and myself had a full week to concentrate on signings and training sessions," said Sharpe.

"Grayston needs no introduction to our supporters. Utility player Cooke is a very good acquisition and Morris played for me when I was at Frickley Athletic and scored a lot of goals.

"We already had Neil Ross, Matty Hoyle and Tom Greaves but with Lee and David now on board we have a lot of permutations up front.

"Lee is coming to us initially for a short term - just to play a few games - but I will be trying to persuade him to stay.

"If he does well and he enjoys his time with us he could decide his future is with this club.

"He has been around the Conference North so there is no doubt he can do the business at this level."

Another down side, for this weekend at least, is that skipper Lee Connor is unavailable and Ross begins a three-game suspension for his sending off at Alsager Town - Avenue's only defeat in the league so far this season.
