Leek Town 1 Guiseley 1
The frustrating start to the season continued for Guiseley as they were held to a draw at Leek Town despite dominating most of the UniBond Premier Division contest.
Guiseley have lost just one of their five fixtures but have not registered as many points as they deserve, although it has not been for the lack of scoring opportunities.
The home side took the lead a minute before the interval though Simon Eldershaw with what was their first shot on target and even though summer signing Gavin Knight broke his duck for Guiseley in the second half, it was not enough for them to claim an overdue maximum.
"It rained throughout and the wind was blowing hard but if anything I think that helped because the surface needed it," said Guiseley manager Neil Parsley.
"I can have no complaints about the conditions or the effort and invention from my players but I'm disappointed that we couldn't get the winner our overall play deserved."
Knight opened his account in fine style with an overhead kick from 15 yards in the 56th minute.
He had earlier shot wide from his first chance in the opening minute, seen a first-half shot saved and had a header ruled out for offside moments after the interval.
