As players, we need to take responsibility for recent results.

The defeat to Warrington was just not good enough and that’s down to us rather than the coaching staff.

The coaches are giving us good gameplans every week and are working hard in training every week to help us improve. It’s up to the lads to respond.

Everybody has an off day now and then but when you’re coming up with the same mistakes week in, week out, it’s simply not good enough.

Winning games isn’t rocket science – do the little things right and you’ll have success.

We’re letting ourselves down with our last plays and that was the case again last weekend. To have so many kicks charged down is virtually unseen and I’m sure it was frustrating for the fans because it was frustrating for us.

We need to be showing some sense of improvement each week if we want to earn a spot in the top eight. We’ve really got to up our game.

This weekend offers a break from Super League and the Challenge Cup is a competition that always offers that little bit of extra excitement.

It’s a good draw for us because this will be the first time we’ve faced Halifax in a competitive game for a while and they’ll be looking to prove a few points as they push for a Super League licence.

This is a game where we should be aiming to get back on track and provide a good performance so we can kick-start our season after a tough Easter period.

It’s pretty much the halfway point in the season now so the coming games will be extremely important. Unfortunately, I’ll miss the trip to Halifax but my shoulder has responded well to rehab and I’m hoping to return to face Hull KR next week.

We’ve suffered a few more injuries recently but we should be getting a couple of players back too and that will help us in the next few weeks.
