Phil Clarke scored four goals as Howden Clough went on the rampage in the WILF WARD MEMORIAL TROPHY.

Clarke led the way in a 13-2 victory against Savile Town Athletic in round one of the Spen Valley League’s knockout competition.

There were two goals apiece from Dave Godlington, Jamie Clarke, Stewart Raynor and man of the match Joe Naydorf, with Ashley Peel completing the tally.

Also on the goal trail were Joshua Wood (4) and Chris Blackburn (3) for Marsh as they beat Stithy 8-2, with James Parkin on target as well.

Fairbank hit back from behind to see off Norfolk 2-1, with Faisal Shabbir scoring the decisive goal.

And BD3 United eased to a 3-0 win over Inter Batley thanks to goals from Talat Mahmood, Shummell Uddin and Syeed Hussain.

In the second round, West Bradford Spartans enjoyed a 3-1 win over Oakwell Reserves after overcoming an interval deficit.

Richard McCann had opened the scoring for Oakwell but Bobby Canning and a Ross Barraclough double turned the tables.

League action saw a couple of shock PREMIER DIVISION results, including second-placed Wellington losing 5-1 to Youth 2000. K Ashiq’s hat-trick was backed up by L Lunat and L Raji.

Unbeaten leaders Oakwell dropped points for only the second time this season as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Ravensthorpe Rangers, who are third.

TVR United beat Quarry 4-1 as Sarfraz Aslam, Abul Kashim, Ashiq Iqbal and Junid Taj supplied the firepower, with Rafal Siudak replying.

The week’s only DIVISION ONE fixture ended 8-1 in favour of leaders Park against ALC. Carl Austin netted half Park’s goals, supported by Wayne Newsome (2), Michael Chadwick and Blake Dewhirst.
