It did not take Farsley Celtic long to record their first away win in the Conference North but they will be hard- pressed to make it two out of two when they journey to the Midlands to face Hinckley United tomorrow.

Although the season is still in the embryonic stage, the midweek victory which the Celts pulled off at Leigh RMI means they are unbeaten on their travels.

Not much of a boast after one game, as Lee Sinnott points out.

"We have won one and lost one - we have three points from a possible six, it is unspectacular," said the boss.

"You can't read anything into either result because if we had beaten Droylsden on the opening Saturday, it wouldn't have made us world-beaters.

"You hope to get off to a good start at the beginning of any new season.

"That is even more important when you have just gone up a division. We could have retreated into our shell but we remembered last season when we were beaten 3-0 at home on the first day.

"That was against Witton Albion and it was very similar - we were well beaten by a better side on the day.

"We recovered from that and went on to win promotion from the UniBond Premier.

"What I have said to the players is don't get carried away'. Nothing is won or lost in the first couple of games so let us be sensible and take things steadily.

"We need to find consistency to achieve anything.

"I know what this group of players is capable of and I am excited about how it will pan out over the coming months. The first result you want under your belt is the first away win - it is usually the most difficult."
