Following just one game in December and one in January, Silsden are hoping they get their February underway on Saturday with a trip to Cheshire to take on Winsford United in the Vodkat Premier Division.
The home side may be second in the table while the Cobbydalers are struggling fourth from bottom but manager Chris Reape believes the desire for a competitive game will be a levelling factor.
Reape said: “We hope Saturday’s game is on, first and foremost. We have our fingers, toes and everything else crossed. It has been a nightmare, an absolute joke, and I can safely say I have never known anything like it in my time in the game.
“It will be tough going to Winsford because they are riding high but we have beaten three teams this season who were in that second spot when we played them.
“We have had some serious training sessions and morale is very high around the club at the moment, not just the squad.
“I have a good feeling about this one – which has probably just put the kiss of death on it – and the lads are looking forward to it.
“We will go there with confidence and look to put in a wholehearted performance.
“There are obviously no injuries and we have strengthened as well.
“We have a full squad and there is competition for places, so it is down to the players that cross the white line to stand up and be counted.”
