Shipley have won the Yorkshire A Team Inter-Club Ladies’ finals at Cookridge Hall, Leeds.

They beat Low Laithes in their morning semi-final and Scarborough South Cliff in the afternoon final.

Shipley also received the leading qualifiers’ salver for most points accumulated during the season (35).

It was a memorable day and Shipley’s commitment and determination made them worthy winners.

The team members were Helen Williams, Gail Fry, Kath Brammah, Jean Elsworth, Pauline Brook, Brenda Emmett and Judith Walton, with Julie Cadman and Maggie Marshall as reserves.

However, all the ladies who played for the team during the season deserve recognition for the significant part they played in ensuring that the team qualified for the finals.

His second-round 64 help-ed him to total 138 over 36 holes, leaving him three shots behind winner Jamie Bower (Halifax-Huddersfield), who shot 69, 66.

Bradford also came second in their quest to add the team championship to the league title they won earlier this month. Leeds won by nine shots on 868.
