Bradford Park Avenue will be attempting to kick-start their season tonight when high-flying FC United of Manchester visit Horsfall Stadium.

Avenue have had a mediocre start to their Evo-Stick Premier Division campaign but their rivals from across the Pennines are currently fifth with a game in hand on all four clubs above them.

FC United could go joint top with a win tonight.

Avenue chairman John Dean said: “It will be a big game for us, even this early in the season. They will bring a lot of supporters with them and their team is riding high.

“But we had not one but two comebacks against Worksop on Saturday, coming back from 2-0 down at half-time and then again from 3-2 down when we got an injury-time penalty.

“We needed that confidence-boosting second half ahead of this game.”
