Eccleshill 4 Appleby Frodingham 0
The Eagles flew to the top of Kool Sport NCEL Division One with a handsome home victory which sets them up nicely for tomorrow’s second home game of the Bank Holiday weekend against Rossington Main.
Manager Ian Banks will be able to name an unchanged side as the Eagles go looking for a fifth straight victory.
They took some time to break Appleby down, with the opening goal coming minutes before half-time. It was Lee Hill who latched onto a through ball before beating the visitors’ keeper.
A quickly-taken Hill free-kick extended their advantage in the 66th minute before American import Joe Spivack followed Hill’s lead by bagging himself a brace.
He shot into the roof of the net to convert a Marcus Edwards cross and then picked up a loose ball five minutes from time to net a rasping shot after rounding the visitors’ defence.
