Leeds United boss Simon Grayson has ruled out returning to his old club Leicester City as Nigel Pearson’s successor.

Grayson, who guided Leeds to promotion from League One last season, was installed as one of the favourites after Pearson took over at Hull this week.

But Grayson said: “I have just got the team I support into the Championship and I have a job to do at Leeds.

“I am flattered by the speculation but I am committed to being at Leeds United for a lot longer and hopefully that will be the case.”

Grayson takes his players away to a training camp in Slovakia later this month and says he hopes to have more recruits on board by then.

He has already signed goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, defenders Paul Connolly and Federco Bessone and striker Billy Paynter.

“Ideally I would like to bring two or three more players in before we go to Slovakia so they can work with us and be involved in friendly games as quickly as possible on the tour,” said Grayson.

“If that doesn’t happen we will bide our time because we are not going to sign players just for the sake of it.”
