Jamie Langley column: Fingers crossed I should be back this week and it can’t come a moment too soon.

It’s been a long, frustrating wait recovering from this injury but I’ve trained for the past two weeks now and had no problem, so it all looks good.

I’ve got a bit tired of watching but one good thing about being on the sidelines is that you notice things you wouldn’t notice if you’re on the pitch and you can adapt to that.

I feel rejuvenated and I’m really excited to be getting out there again. This is what you go to work for.

I always enjoy going to Cas anyway so I can’t wait. I used to go and watch them as a kid, and it’s a good, old-fashioned rugby league ground.

They’re building all these new stadiums now but Wheldon Road is still there. The fans are right on top of you and they always get right behind their team no matter what, so it’s a tough place to play.

We’re confident though. The performance against Warrington was a huge improvement and we’ve set the standards with that.

There’s still lots to improve on, we’re under no illusions about that, and we’re trying to get better every day. We’re getting to the business end of the season now and we know we can’t take any game for granted.

We’ve done a World Cup sweepstake and all the lads have drawn a team.

I got Nigeria, which unfortunately means it’s all over for me, but Wagga got Uruguay, so he’s delighted because they got through to the last 16.

Every two hours he sends out a group text updating us with team news or when there’s a goal scored.

He’s getting a bit carried away with it, so we’re not sure if he’s actually got some Uruguayan blood in him. I think he’s even contemplated getting their shirt so we’re going to have to put up with this as long as they stay in the competition.
