Jamie Langley column

It’s been a really frustrating couple of months for me with injury but now I can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I’ve been on the verge of a comeback for a while and had setbacks but, fingers crossed, I hope to be back next week.

I’ve been in full training all week with the boys and not had any problems with the muscle. This week was just a little too soon but it’s starting to look a lot better.

We know we have to respond this week because we’ve put in two really disappointing performances in the last two games.

I think the most disappointing thing about the Crusaders defeat last week was that we dragged ourselves back into it at 20-16 but then just let it slip again.

Macca called us in to training on what was supposed to be our day off on Monday and we’ve been flogged this week. It was even harder for those of us not playing because we got a double flogging!

I think that was the kick up the backside that we all needed. Our intensity needs to raise tenfold against Warrington if we’re to stand any chance of getting a result.

It’s hard to single out individuals because the majority of our squad just haven’t produced the right level of intensity in recent games.

We know we need everyone to be on their game if we’re going to get the result. We can’t afford to let anyone have an off day, either physically or mentally.

We know things have to change and I have to say a special congratulations this week to Cain Southernwood, who will be making his Super League debut.

He’s been driving in to training with me and Wagga every day, as well as Danny Addy, so we’ve taken him under our wing.

He keeps promising he’s going to book his driving test but we doubt he’s even learning. I reckon he’s just happy for the free ride.

But he’s a good lad and a confident player. He’s probably stepping up earlier than might have been planned but I’m sure he’ll be able to handle it.
