Fulford Golf Club’s James Miller has won the 2010 Hawksworth Trophy.

The prestigious 36-hole strokeplay competition, for the leading amateur golfers throughout the north of England, was held at The Bradford Golf Club on Saturday.

Miller shot a two-round gross score of 136, six under par.

In a close-fought competition, he finished two shots ahead of Simon Coumbe (Pontefract & District GC) and Martin Brown (Pike Hills), who finished on 138.

With a second-round score of 69, Coumbe took the runner-up prize.
