Bradford City have teamed up with The Co-operative to offer two lucky footballers the chance of a lifetime.

In memory of victims of the Bradford fire 25 years ago, fans of the club can now bid to play alongside the ‘old boys’ including Dean Windass, Peter Beagrie and Stuart McCall in a memorial match against the winners of The Co-operative Challenge Trophy Cup Lancashire.

The match, which takes place at the Coral Windows Stadium on Sunday, May 9, is being used as a fundraiser to help raise £100,000 for the Bradford Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit.

Two places are up for grabs, with the two highest bidders getting the chance to play up to 45 minutes with the ‘old boys’ and live out their fantasies of playing at Valley Parade.

They will also have the satisfaction of knowing that their donation has gone towards helping fire victims, along with helping to keep the Bradford Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit open.”

To bid for a place on the home team, entrants must be male, over the age of 16 and have experience playing football.

To make a bid, e-mail your name, age and contact details to bid2play@the-bantams.co.uk. The bid amount must appear on the subject line of the e-mail and the highest two bids will win.

Entry to the memorial match is free, although donations to the Bradford Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit are welcome and can be made on the day.
