Goals by Bradley Johnson and Tresor Kandol moved Leeds’ reserves to within a point of leaders and opponents Middlesbrough at Elland Road last night.
Johnson opened the scoring with a volley after 13 minutes and Kandol, a prolific scorer for the reserves, headed the second in the 73rd minute.
An experienced United side included Rui Marques, Gary McSheffrey, Mike Grella, Ben Parker, Shane Lowry and Aidan White.
