ATHLETICS: Bradford's Steven Taylor took one of the top titles as the achievements of athletes across Yorkshire were recognised at the npower Federation of Disability Sports Awards.
High-jumper Taylor won the Most Promising Senior Newcomer (Male) award.
The 20-year-old represented Great Britain at the European Indoor Championships in Italy, finishing fourth and setting a new personal best.
Last year, he also won the high jump at the Disport Senior Championship and the under-20 English National Championship.
He went with the Great Britain team to the World Championships in Canberra, Australia, coming seventh.
Steven trains with Wakefield Harriers and has his sights set on selection for the European Championships in France later this year.
The annual event now in its 13th year aims to raise the profile of disability sports ever higher and recognise the tremendous effort and commitment made by competitors of all ages, their coaches and supporters.
