Two home games in the next four days brings an exciting end-of-season climax to Bradford Park Avenue's disappointing Northern Premier League campaign.

Two victories would almost certainly seal survival and Avenue go into tonight's game with promotion-seeking North Ferriby United looking to win their third on the bounce at Horsfall following the successes last week over Runcorn FC Halton and Ossett Town.

While there is still a fixture at second- bottom Radcliffe Borough to play on the final day of the season, Avenue chairman John Dean believes the club's future could be sorted by 4.45pm on Saturday when the final whistle blows against AFC Telford United.

"It's a big match tonight but we shouldn't be frightened," said Dean.

"I am hoping it doesn't come to that final match. If we can get good results in these two final home games, I hope the relegation issue will be sorted.

"I think four points will be enough to keep us up six points definitely."

Dean added: "We were desperately unlucky at Blyth on Monday. It is the fifth time we have seen this new-look side and they have done very well in each match, despite losing three of them.

"North Ferriby only drew 0-0 at home to Whitby on Monday and they are stuttering a bit, so we have nothing to fear.

"The big thing is that our defence looks a lot better now. If we can get a result tonight then we have a big chance of avoiding relegation.

"Wakefield, who are just above us, have some very difficult fixtures left, so you question how many points they are going to get.

"So far a lot of people have been very impressed by the management team of Phil Sharpe and Clive Freeman but they are playing for their futures here.

"They have thrown this side together in no time and it looks like a very good team. It's a pity we didn't have it earlier."

Many fans believe if former manager Gary Brook had been sacked a few weeks earlier, Avenue might not be in the relegation mire.

Sharpe and Freeman have made wholesale changes throughout the side but it has always been a battle against time.
