Peter Taylor hopes to have a FIFTH new face in place against Rotherham tomorrow.

The City boss was keeping tight-lipped over his latest target but plans to have his man signed up on loan this morning.

The latest arrival should make his debut alongside defensive new boy Luke Oliver at the Don Valley Stadium.

Taylor’s Valley Parade revamp will also mean some going the other way.

Winger Scott Neilson was yesterday shipped out to Cambridge United for a month under orders to improve his fitness.

Like Chris Brandon, he has not been involved since Accrington.

Taylor said: “I’m not questioning Scott’s ability but his fitness. Because of that I didn’t think he would start many games in March.

“When Cambridge United came in, I recommended he take the opportunity. He knows the area and I think it will be very good for him.”

Taylor will also consider sending out other fringe players as he reshapes the squad.

He said: “I’ve got my ideas on what I’m going to do. If the phone rings and maybe somebody’s not in those plans, even if they were a substitute, I would consider letting them out on loan.

“I’m new here but I’m looking to freshen a few things up as well.

“I’ve really appreciated what the board have done letting me bring people in on loan. I’ll always play ball by letting others go.”

Taylor has slight doubts over ankle victims Luke O’Brien and Gavin Grant but hopes both will recover to face Ronnie Moore’s Millers.

He is ready for a tough slog on another difficult surface.

“I saw Rotherham play Torquay recently and one half of the pitch is a bit like ours and the other’s okay. Hopefully it might look a little bit worse than what it is – it might be flatter than what we think.

“If we approach the game as we have done the last three matches then I’ll have no complaints. We want to bounce back from getting beaten on Tuesday.

“We showed what we were capable of against Rochdale last week and deserved to win.

“They have set their standard and I’m asking them to keep that as many times as they can. Rotherham admit the Don Valley pitch is no advantage for the home side.

Former City midfielder Nicky Law said: “The pitch just drains your energy because it is so boggy.

“It is one of the worst pitches that I have played on but there is nothing we can do as we are just tenants here.”
