Leeds United’s league crowds are up on last season, and club officials are expecting their biggest attendance since Boxing Day when Brentford visit Elland Road on Saturday.

Two of the last three home crowds have dipped below the 20,000 mark – for the games against Walsall and Oldham – but the current average is 24,146 compared with an average of 23,639 for the whole of last season.

Over 21,000 tickets have already been sold for Saturday’s game, and United advise anyone wanting to buy tickets in limited availability areas to do so as quickly as possible.

Hartlepool’s visit on Boxing Day attracted a crowd of 30,191 but the biggest league attendance at Elland Road this season was 36,723 for the West Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield Town.
