Farsley Celtic have prepared for their Blue Square North fixture at AFC Telford United tomorrow night as normal despite the threat to their future still hanging over them.

It was supposed to be D-Day for the club today as a decision was set to be made regarding their period of administration.

Administrators Mazars were due to decide whether or not to accept an offer from the consortium led by Farsley president John Palmer.

But the talks failed to reach a conclusion and will resume today.

It has been reported that if the deal is not accepted the club faces liquidation.

The club went into administration in the close season and have played this campaign with a ten-point penalty and a transfer embargo.

A winding-up order was successfully beaten off in the High Court by putting a CVA (company voluntary agreement) in place.

Under the rules of the Football Conference, Farsley must come out of administration by the second Saturday in May to be eligible for membership of the league next season.

Despite that difficult backdrop, Celts boss Neil Pars-ley’s squad have been impressing on the pitch and came away from fifth-placed Droylsden at the weekend with another three points towards their survival bid.

The win put them eight points clear of the drop zone and Parsley said: “We played well in the first half at Droylsden but when Dave Syers was sent off just minutes before half-time we were always going to be up against it.

“It was very much ‘backs against the wall’ in the second half but we defended ever so well.

“There are no fresh injuries so it will be the same squad (at Telford) but we might have to push Jacko (first team coach and centre back Mark Jackson) out in a wheelchair! He and Josh Radcliffe were magnificent with towering headers and superb tackles.

“Jacko’s organisation and experience settles the other defenders and our keeper.”
