DIVISION 2A leaders Unity suffered a surprise 4-1 defeat to Wrose Albion in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League.

Unity took the lead after 60 minutes and that looked set to be another victory.

But fourth-placed Albion had other ideas, with man of the match Sam Riley scoring one goal and setting up the other three.

Andy Robinson, Thomas Bibb and Lee Cornforth also scored to blow the title race wide open.

Peel Park Avenue recorded a straightforward 5-1 victory at fellow strugglers Bankfoot Lions.

Anthony Ludlam and Hamza Darr both scored twice, with veteran Chris Whittingham completed the tally.

Second-placed Thornton United hammered Second West 10-2 in DIVISION 2B with a stunning performance from debutant Jamie Taylor.

In DIVISION 3A, Eccleshill Sunday’s unbeaten record crashed to a halt at Undercliffe, who romped to a 7-3 victory and leapfrogged their opponents into second place.

Nick Scullion’s fine hat-trick was backed up by James Carr, James Locker, Richard Tempest-Mitchell and an own goal.

Shoulder of Mutton battled to a 2-1 victory at Nab Wood Juniors in DIVISION 3B after being a goal down. Dave Priestley and Peter Grey were their scorers.

Goals from Liam Ainsworth, Nicky Darby, Matthew Johnson and Garry Malivuk ensured maximum points went to Harold Club as they defeated Ring o’ Bells 4-1.

In DIVISION FOUR, an own goal and Richard Gledhill strike proved enough for Robin Hood to beat AFC Titans 2-1.

And Silsden Sunday Reserves defeated De Treffors 2-0 thanks to goals from Tom Smith and Luke Newton, plus a man-of-the-match display from Clark Greenward.

COUNTY TROPHY action saw New Inn Celtic beat Rose & Crown 4-2 with a hat-trick from Michael Kelsey, who has been out of action for five months.

There was also a stunning strike by Alex Cusack, while Billy Swiatek picked up the man-of -the-match award in his first game for three months.

A Liam Sanderson brace and Andy Kenyan’s solo strike kept up Stanningley Albion’s impressive league and cup form.
