FARSLEY CELTIC will be eager to gain points from the visit of neighbours and fellow strugglers Harrogate Town in the Blue Square North tomorrow night.

The Celts had climbed to 16th after a good run once they had erased their ten-point penalty. But since the long break due to the weather they have lost two games on the trot and that has dropped them back two places.

They are now just four points clear of the relegation zone but know a win against the second-bottom visitors could rocket them up as high as 14th.

Mark Jackson captained the side in Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat to Northwich Victoria, who are also under the constraints of a ten-point penalty, and feels the Celts have the quality to climb the table.

He said: “Saturday’s game didn’t look like a contest between two relegation-threatened sides. In fact, it had the quality and entertainment value of two clubs capable of promotion.

“That would have been the case if neither of us had suffered the ten-point deduction and that really makes it hard for the players and coaching staff.

“But we have to get on with things the way they are and take points from teams around us in the table in order to pull clear.”

Jackson could be replaced as skipper tonight but he will still be in the line-up.

There are no new injuries but club captain Dominic Krief returned as a second-half substitute after serving a one-game ban and will be pushing for a return to the starting line-up.

GUISELEY will be in good spirits going into their UniBond League home clash with Buxton after moving back up to seventh in the Premier Division with a weekend win at Worksop Town.

Former Bantams midfielder Craig Bentham came off the bench in the second half but was substituted himself soon after. He picked up an injury which makes him doubtful for tomorrow.

ECCLESHILL UNITED were denied their first game in 2010 by a waterlogged pitch at Barton Town on Saturday so will hope for better news tomorrow as they look to host Glasshoughton Welfare in Northern Counties East League Division One.
